Privacy Policy

Our commitment

FarClose is a private space for two people. We collect only the information needed to provide the app, protect accounts, and deliver content to the partner a user chooses.

Information we process

• Account and authentication identifiers managed by Clerk.
• Profile details such as name, city, country, status, mood, and pairing code.
• Relationship content, including love notes, memories, photos, voice notes, plans, mission proofs, soundtrack links, and private journal entries.
• Approximate city-level coordinates used for distance, weather, and the optional aggregate couples map. FarClose does not request continuous or background location access.
• Push notification tokens and basic operational logs needed to keep the service secure and reliable.

How information is used

We use information to authenticate users, pair partners, display shared content, send requested notifications, provide weather and distance features, prevent abuse, and operate FarClose. FarClose does not sell personal information or use it for third-party advertising.

Who can see content

Shared relationship content is visible to the paired partner. Private relationship journal text is visible only to its author; the partner receives only an opaque count or status where the feature requires it. The global couples map is optional and uses rounded, combined area totals rather than names or exact locations.

Service providers

FarClose relies on service providers for hosting, authentication, storage, and push delivery, including Replit, Clerk, and Expo. Spotify and Apple Music links open their respective services and are governed by those services’ policies.

Retention and deletion

Information is retained while an account is active. A signed-in user can permanently delete their account from Settings → Account. Deletion removes the user’s FarClose profile, relationship, shared relationship history, user-created memories, voice notes, private notes, and notification data. The partner’s separate account remains, but the deleted relationship cannot be restored.

Children

FarClose is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
